1.0 SIDE UNDER SPOILER INSTALLATION
1.1 PARTS LIST
- Left & Right Side Under Spoiler
- (6) Expansion Clips
1.2 TOOLS & SUPPLIES REQUIRED
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Flat Tip Screwdriver
- Piece of Cardboard
- Rust Check (Optional)
1.3 INSTALLATION
NOTE:
- These instructions show the left side under spoiler being installed. The same procedure applies to installing the right side under spoiler.
- Be careful not to damage the body finish when removing the side sill panel and installing the side under spoiler.
- Remove the side under spoilers from the packaging (if new), and place them on a piece of cardboard.
- Remove the two self-tapping screws securing the inner fender to the front fender. You may need to turn the front tires to access this location. Save the two self-tapping screws for the re-installation.
- Remove the four expansion clips from the underside of the side sill panel. Discard the three expansion clips since new ones are required for the re-installation.
Remove the side sill panel by sliding the panel toward the front, then pulling it out toward you. After removing the side sill panel, re-install only the rear expansion clip.
Remove and retain the spring nut from the front of the side sill panel.
Remove the seven clips from the body flange by turning each clip 45 degrees, then pulling it out toward you.
Slide the seven clips you removed onto the brackets on the inside of the left side under spoiler with the tab facing down. Slide the spring nut you removed from the side sill panel onto the front of the left side under spoiler.
At this time, it would be a good idea to clean the body flange of all the built up dirt. You may also wish to spray the body flange with some rust check.
Make sure that the area to be covered is clean and has been waxed with a high-quality paste wax.
Open the door, and install the left side under spoiler by pushing the seven clips into the square holes in the body flange.
Further secure the left side under spoiler to the body flange by inserting the expansion clips (new) into the holes in the three brackets on the side under spoiler and through the body.
Secure the side under spoiler to the left fender using the two self-tapping screws removed previously.
Repeat all steps to install the right side under spoiler.

- Slide the spring nut over the dimpled area of the front bumper on each side of the inner fender.
- Using contact cleaner and a shop towel, thoroughly clean the bonding surfaces of the front bumper.
- Cut two strips of double-sided adhesive tape to a desired length. Remove the backing from one side of each piece of adhesive tape, and attach the tape just below the top lip of the front under spoiler.
- Remove the backing from the other side of each piece of adhesive tape, and position the front under spoiler on the front bumper. Hold the front under spoiler firmly against the front bumper where the adhesive tape was applied.
- Check that there is no gap between the front bumper and the front under spoiler. If there is, you may need to re-apply the double-sided adhesive tape in a different position on the front under spoiler.
- Install the ten bumper bolts into the clips nuts, and tighten the bolts securely with the 10mm socket and ratchet.
- Install the self-tapping screw through the side of the front under spoiler into the spring nut on the inner fender.
- Check for proper fit and alignment since all front under spoiler's sizes may vary. If there is a gap between the front under spoiler and the inner fender wall, you may wish to install a rubber or plastic washer in between the front under spoiler and the spring nut.
