    VW Jetta Fire!

    From another forum:
    MK4 VW caught on fire in markham today

    I live in Toronto, Canada.. and I used to drive a MK4 golf, and now I drive a VW Rabbit..

    today when I went for lunch, I saw a 2006 GLI (model year confirmed with owner) smoking.. smoke was coming out from the steering wheel..

    *I think the engine bay is on fire and the smoke is being forced out..

    the owner told me that he had just started his car and it started smoking, he left the car, and a minute later.. a small fire developed on the steering wheel... airbag came out, and later popped..3 minutes later, the whole car is on fire..

    my MK4 saved my life, but after seeing this, i sorta lost some confidence in VW...

    im guessing warrenty is expired? insurance wouldnt cover something like that...

    insurance covers this (even if you're under warranty)

    sadly all brands catch fire...it just happens

    google 'honda fire' or 'acura fire' and you'll see
