pass e test without catalytic converter

I know it can be done.

How can I go about this?

Went for an e test today.

Everything else did very well, except for the idle HC. How can I get this to pass without getting a new catalytic converter? If it comes down to it, ill get one. But I think i didnt fail by much, so there is room for tweaking.

I THINK its hydrogen chloride? But when I did that it brought up the CO2? (I cant remember it's been years since my last e-test) and I don't miss these things at all!

ya you wont pass the etest without a cat... the hydrocarbons are not being burnt after combustion. which is what your cat does
