Re: Porsche Panamera

Hmm... The coupe does look a lot better! However, my main issue remains with Porsche's iconic back-end... That is why, personally, I think the only good-looking Porsche is the Carrera GT.

i like the car, but isnt this redundant? their majority of their line up is composed of coupes. where will this fit in the grand scheme of things?

do they really need another coupe?

Re: Porsche Panamera

I saw this car in the flesh yesterday at Pfaff Hyundai......its a strange car....very long and very strange almost like a rolling WTF are you thinking. I didnt like it.

But I must say the interior was tre cool. Actually it was super cool.....but the outside just simply was not for $140,000 or whatever it is.

1.5 thumbs down .5 thumb up for interior

Not all coupes are the same. Porsche does not have a proper GT car. This is a perfect car to steal sales from brute AMG coupes, BMW M6, Aston Martins, Maseratti Grasnturismo, and even Ferrari 599.

and the S5 (although it's a lot smaller and cheaper than everything else)

by defintion, yes, this will add a proper grand tourer to the line up. and you're absolutely correct in saying that this will indeed steal sales from the manufacturers mentioned above but at what cost? i believe there is the risk that this will cannibalize they're on car sales: specifically from the carrera.

i read an interesting article which stated that the main reason porsche would consider introducing a panamera coupe would be to regain some of the R&D costs used to develop the panamera (because it was a completely new chasis).
^fair enough.

Re: Porsche Panamera

speedArt to debut PS9-650 Panamera

very nice

from autoblog

Quote:
Using the Panamera Turbo as a base, speedArt have transformed Porsche's four-door into a 650-horsepower monster thanks to larger turbochargers, an upgraded exhaust system and a revised ECU. The German tuner claims impressive performance figures: a top speed of over 200 mph and 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.

Re: Porsche Panamera

yeah lets not fight about this too but because the rear is a hatch its considered a wagon to me. All wagons share that common characteristic.

Re: Porsche Panamera

these things are flying out of the dealer lots.

coles notes: panamera has been on sale for 3 months, already 9000 orders placed, and they just finished building their 10000th car

Spotted a blue Turbo version at the Hong Tai grocery store at Vic Park/Sheppard. Might be the owner's car, not sure, but I actually like it.

One parked at the corner of Spadina and Adelaide...wouldn't be surprised if it's the same guy who owns the DB9...

Those numbers are astounding. It seems Porsche can do no wrong.
