Winnipeg Luders

Hey there..

Ive known and loved my lude for almost two years now... loved looking at what other people have done... shame about hp.com... anyway.. im mostly on h-p.com now but im looking to see what fellow luders are from the big WPG... seen a few nice ludes in town..

the national idea sounds cool.... be nice to know about places in canada to purchase stuff instead of getting them from the states and having to pay high shipping rates...

i wouldnt mind participating in a WPG prelude club if one ever starts up... i own a 4th gen and have a friends who own a 3rd and 4th gen and are into cars...

anyway.. who else is from WPG... interested in setting up a meet in the summer sometime?

Cool winnipeg club!

yeah, ludemonkey. I totally support your idea of starting up a lude club in winnipeg. Let me know ifyou start up a website or something, count me in and you'll see me aroudn in a fresco blue 4th gen at the university.

Finally some more Winnipeg luders. I'm around the Winnipeg area and have a 4th gen as well. Hopefully we can get more prelude owners from MB here so we can set up meets. Last summer we had one that was organized on hp.com and there was a pretty good turnout. I'm thinking a Winnipeg Prelude Club could happen with some good support.

yeah sounds good...
how many ended up turning out?

my friend and i figured we'd take lil ads and stick them under windsheilds whenever we see ludes or drive by and chuck them at fellow luders to tell them bout this site... they may hate us.. but at least they'll know about this place so we can have meets and whatnot...

hey.. i hear hp.com might make a comeback.. yay!

I'd be happy to attend any meets or get togethers in the city for prelude enthusiasts. It would be nice to hang out with people with similar interests as myself. By the way a drive a silver 5th generation.

If you get enough people you could perhaps register a domain name and point to towards this webspace/url. Something like winnipegpreludeclub.com ?

I'd say that we had about 10-15 ludes. It was pretty sweet seeing that many ludes in one place.

If we can make some business cards we could put them on winshields. The only problem is that not many people drive their ludes in winter (or at least not me). We can still give it a try and plan for the summer.

It'd be really nice getting our own domain and website. I have absolutly no knowledge in that area so if someone takes the initiative, i'd be down for throwing some money in.

thats pretty good..

My degree says that Im a computer engineer... so i could probably set something up... if we do most of the hosting with a third party, setting up a free web forum with room for a few setup pics shouldnt be too tough.... only real cost would be registering a domain which would cost about 50-75 bux a year (depending on the domain name of course)...

And if thats too much work we could always just set up a Yahoo! Groups, which is pretty easy (and free) to setup and allows for files, Polls, Posts, and even live chat... might be good for now and if it grows large enough... meaning say 15 people

Ill try make one up quick Y! Group and post back in a bit...

If someone knows how to make a nice website with a webboard and picture gallery I'd think we could pool up $20 to regester www.winnipegpreludeclub.com. We could start small and if the club takes off we could expand the website with the growing number of wpc members.

haha wow.
we need to meet up in the summer FOR REAL! i know a wicked place to meet (greyhound parking lot on memorial(?) and portage, behind holiday inn). if you guys had good eyes during the summer, you probably would've seen me and a bunch of ludes go up the ramp and hang out on the top level. me and my friends have 5th gen ludes (2 silver base, 1 white sh, 1 red sh, and 1 blue se), and 2 4th gens (1 red auto, 1 silver sr). so how many ludes do we have? my friends don't have computers so i'm basically the messenger and stuff, haha

I know a few lude owners too that I could bring out to the meets. I'm guessing we could easily see more than 20 ludes if we plan a meet in summer.

Nice work on the yahoo site ludemonkey!

thanks... its a start anyway...

i had a dream...
"Build it.. and they will come"

ya.. a meet in the summer would be great... give me enough time to do some mods that ive been wanting to do in the spring ...

i think if we register a domain name we should make it less specific then winnipegpreludeclub.com in case we decide to grow the site... plus it will be more welcoming to other luders...nevermind how much typing that is.. hehe.. and how many times people might spell it wrong...

I dunno...I like the idea of winnipegpreludeclub.com. There are so many general prelude boards and many of them suck. Maybe an alternative would be a canadian prelude club website?? I have no clue.

ludemonkey, what kind of mods you have planned for summer?

umm... probably just exhaust, rims, and whatever other lil things that need to be customized... last owner of my car scratched up my front windshield and there are two small cracks so ill prolly fix that up to... also saw a nice LCD indash mod for DVD/PS2 which i might try if i can find a reasonably priced 5" screen in town... some plans may have to wait... but its probably all i can budget being a student and all...

about the domain name.. i really dont know what is better... i was just trying to throw around some ideas... i mean it could always have a name like preludecanada.com or something and be for winnipeg primarly but would also be more inviting to others in canada... leaving more room to grow... similar to preludepassion.com (i think) which is mostly only for Ohio...
