It states V6 300hp. Still underpowered. The NSX-R in Japan is 290hp. Not much of an improvment.

"Located mid-ship for better handling, the lightweight compact V6 engine is designed for high efficiency and an output in excess of 300 horsepower. A paddle-shift shift lever makes for instant gear changing. "

If its not near 400hp it will still never reach 'super car status'. Honda has to say FU to the hp rules, after all it costs $140,000.

If I had a $140,000 for a car I would expect it to have a lot more than 290hp.

Power / weight ?

Not bad.

Hey, I didn't notice anyone mention how much it weighs... Does anyone know?

How can you guys say it's underpowered if you don't know how much it weighs?

What if the car only weighs 2000lbs? (not likely, I know), but if it was, suddenly 300HP would be very decent. Still not 'supercar' numbers, true. But if they're not going to beef up the HP, maybe they can obtain more performance out of a lighter chassis. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Although I'm diggin' the clean lines and modern look of this car, I can't say that I like it as much as the 1st gen NSX. At least not yet.

There's differing reports. From the pics it looks like the dualnote engine. And some webpages say it's a 3.5 not a 3.0

In my opinion, they should make sure that it has in excess of 500hp to compete with the Ford GT, otherwise why spend the cash if you can get more for the same price(depending on how much they would sell it for of course)

It's a matter of keeping up with the competition. If not beet them atleast match them. In the 90's honda set the standard and others tried to catch them. Time for them to step up again.

But what if the NSX weighs in at 2300lbs and 350hp? All these supercars with huge hp numbers, how reliable are they all year round? The big selling point for the NSX was and should be the fact that it's as reliable as any Accord/Civic out there.

I beg to differ. The NSX was always branded and sold as a supercar. Back in the day when it came out only the F40/F50 Could compete with it. Because the curent one is outdated that doesn't mean it's not a supercar.

Honda will promote it as such. Have fun driving that thing through the canadian winter.

I'm sure if it had the ground clearance it would make it with flying colours. My point is that even if Honda decides to market it as a supercar, I bet you it will much more reliable as a daily driver than any Ferrari or Lamborghini..

In order to buy a super car you had better have enough money for two. Thats what its going to cost you in expenses for it. The nsx is as close as you can get to..Buy it- Change the oil and for get it.

What IF?? Well it doesn't weight 2300lbs, the current version weighs 3148lbs. I highly doubt it will be any lighter than the current version. Cars usually get heavier over time.

It would be a bargain if it were under $100,000, but as it stands its way too expensive. It won't sell at $140,000.

Porsche btw: is consistently in the top 5 for JD Power ahead of Acura.
