"Reflex" wiper blades...

So I'm sure you've all seen those Canadian Tire commercials for those new relfex wiper blades. I decided to give them a try and picked up one for my driver's side only (to see how well they are before I buy both).

I used them through the snowy weather that we had today and so far, so good! They are definitely different than the passenger side blade that I have on now (which aren't cheap, they were some special aerofoil blades or something), and stick much closer to the glass. You really notice a difference when you compare the two after wiping the glass with them. Mind you, I haven't used them for more than a day, or in the rain yet, but so far they seem great. Everyone seems to be buying them, when I went to CT the first time they were completely sold out!!! They only had one 24" blade hanging on the rack!! Has anyone else went out to buy this thing?

Re: "Reflex" wiper blades...

Yeup I bought a set, I can't say there working all too great for me, I'd say there comparable to just rainX wipers with metal frames. But Ice defintly does not freeze onto them so there good in that sense.

Those things cost way too much.

I'm a cheap old bastard, and I'll keep buying my $6.00 steel blades. I'm cheap, but still too lazy to just buy the inserts.

These blades seems to work well on alot of vehicles including Hondas, but on vehicles with a more curved windshield (some of the new GM's), they are horrible becuse they do not form to the shape of the windshield.

Re: "Reflex" wiper blades...

I'm not so sure that a comparison between your old wiper blade and this new one validates the quality of the "Reflex".

I'm pretty certain that even if you put on a $6 steelie, you would've noticed a great improvement.

The true test would've been to buy a $6 steelie for the passenger-side and compare it to this Reflex.

Re: "Reflex" wiper blades...

I put these on the CR-v... They're actually really quite good... unless you accidentally bend it -- like when scraping ice off your windshield.. I accidentally bent one doing exactly that (hit the end with the scraper as I was trying to loosen the blade, which froze to the glass) and it's never been the same..

The difference is that the $6 steelies feeze up on me every once in a while. I wouldn't need a side by side comparison to see that. Of course I'm not going to spend 3X the price just to avoid knocking the ice off my blades.

I tried those winter blades that are all wrapped in rubber to avoid freezing, but they don't bend enough, and edges of my windshield don't get touched.

Every blade is going to require you knock the ice off.

Are the blades replaceable on the Reflex or do you have to buy all new blades everytime they wear out?

Not off of the entire blade. The steel blades get ice all inside them. You actually have to lift them off the glass and bend them back and forth to make sure you break the ice inside the joints.

I don't know for sure. But I say 99.9% you will have to buy the entire unit again.

Do you know anyone that does make wiper blades where you can just replace the rubber?

Re: "Reflex" wiper blades...

I have the REFLEX and I love them, have had them for over two weeks now. Ice, snow, slush, rain and I am still very impressed. AND I had the OEM blade inserts changed about a 10 days before I put these on (Honda did it for free so I had nothing to lose) the best thing I notice is no lift on the highway going over 120 and no ice build up. I am using the Rain-x windshield washer fluid but don't have any actual rain-x on the windows

Re: "Reflex" wiper blades...

Sorry for rehashing an old thread but..................

I went and picked up a pair of these Reflex wiper blades today at CT for my Accord. Boy were they expensive. I guess seeing the commercial lately got me sold in trying these out. Ive heard good things about them and there are alot of good feedback from the posts above so I'll see how it goes. Partsource also carries the same ones but under a different name of Innovision. Their starting price is alittle bit cheaper but cost the same for the larger size blades. Both CT and Partsource were sold out of the larger size blades. I guess they are more popular now. Anyways, thought I'd give them a shot.

Anyone else using them and those who have them are still satisfied?

i was at walmart and i saw a knock-off brand of reflex wipers.

i don't know how good they are, but maybe i'll do a driver v. passenger comparison with the real thing and the knock off.

This is my second winter with the Reflexes, and while they have started to leave a couple of streaks, they still work amazingly well. Just the fact that the joints don't freeze makes it worth the extra $20 I spent for the set.

By the way, the new Civic has Reflex wipers.

You gone too far this time
But I’m dancing on the valentine
I tell you somebody’s fooling around -
With my chances on the dangerline
I’ll cross that bridge when I find it
Another day to make my stand, oh..
High time is no time for deciding
If I should find a helping hand, oh..

So why don’t you use it
Try not to bruse it
Buy time don’t lose it

The reflex is an only child, he’s waiting in the park
The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn’t that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a
Question mark

I’m on a ride and I want to get off
But they won’t slow down the roundabout
I sold the renoir and the tv set
Don’t want to be around when this gets out

The reflex is an only child, he’s waiting by the park
The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn’t that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does is an answer with a
Question mark

Oh, the reflex what a game he’s hiding all the cards
The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn’t that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a
Question mark

bought them last year. great wipers at the beginning but i didn't like the way they performed on the passenger side. left spots and streaks across the top end. also encountered noise issues after 6 months of use. this year i just went back to the cheap metal blades.
