Strange Odor in car !!!
ok i've stuck this in OT for exposure.
posted in TAC about my beater (90 accord) it seems that i have a strong smell coming from inside the car. I smells like rad fluid but i could be wrong. Now i have checked the firewall and found nothing..i pulled the passenger carpet to find no leaks, or wetness...i am stumped. today on when i got in my car..it was toxic...the smell was overwhelming. it seems to only happen when the inside is heated up, during the nite its not so bad. anysuggestions? here's the link to TAC http://forums.torontoaccords.com/vie...er=asc&start=0

Its the cabin filter. it's 17 years old. Change it.

no nothing died...but i need to figure this out soon..the smell is horrible in hte mornings.

Where is heater core located in those cars? Check heater core.
Do you go low on coolant at all? Check coolant level. Possible mold in vent ducts,.. old, moldy cabin air filter. |

i've checked coolant..and its full...no leaks..so i don't know ...i could be moldy air vents..i don't think the accord has a cabin filter

The smell could be from the seat foam and carpet when the sun hits it or when it gets hot the odour is released. I would get the seats out and clean the seats and carpet with uphostery/carpet shampoo and wet vac then let it dry out in the sun. or take it to a detailer.
